Marhaban Ramadhan Al-Mubarak

It's the first day of fasting today. We were at Mom's place early this morning for the Sahur. My second sister had come back earlier and my youngest sister had gone back to her inlaws in Batu Pahat to celebrate the beginning of fast there. So we figured we'd keep Mom company for Sahur. Not a bad idea actually. Guaranteed home cooked food, even at Sahur.

This Ramadhan will also be Nissa's first try at fasting. Day one is always so challenging. By 3.00pm she was so cranky and almost gulped down a glass of water to quench her thirst. But she's trying really hard. There's no school today so she is kinda OK. We'll have to wait and see what happens tomorrow when she has a full day starting with mengaji class in the morning and continued with school in the afternoon. I promised her "something" if she pulls through this year's fasting well. Even if she doesn't, there will still be "something".... to recognize her effort.

As for me, Alhamdulillah, I feel blessed to be given another opportunity to seek favours from Allah SWT. Like the previous years, I'd like to make changes for a better Me. A change from the ignominy of sins to the glory of obedience; from weakness and laziness to seriousness and resoluteness; from bad customs and detestable habits to pure and upright conducts.
