Sunday 23 April 2007 Chiangmai Day 3

After the rides yesterday, we were off to the hills today. The journey took us almost two and a half. April is the dry season in Thailand. On our drive up we saw trees so dried up and the ground was brown in colour.

We reached at the Doi Inthanon National Park area after driving about 30 minutes uphill. The Doi Inthanon is Thailand's highest mountain and towers 2,565 metres above sea level. Complex mountain ranges and a mild climate characterise an area with moist and dense summit forest. It is also the source of important tributaries of the Mae Ping River, one of northern Thailand' s major waterways.

Nothing is more refreshing than having coffee at the top of the peak.
