Chiangmai Last Day 23 April 2007

Our last day in Chiangmai today. We woke up early and had breakfast at the hotel. My plan this morning was to go for a quick manicure at one of the shops near our hotel. It was supposed to be opened by 8 am. Our flight was at 11am. We should have enough time.

The other girls wanted to go for one as well. Ok then...all four of us shall come home with clean, sparkling finger nails.

We got to the shop at around 8.15am. The shop was already opened. One of the girls had just finished saying her prayers by the altar. She was about to walk over to the cashier counter and when we asked if the shop was opened, she "freezed" her body in a rather awkward position. She remined me of that cartoon character "speedy gonzales".

I told her that we wanted to do manicure and padicure. But we didn't have much time as we had a flight to catch. Our airport pickup was at 9.30. So she really had to get her other girls going. At that time there were only 2 girls in the shop. She convinced me it could be done and other girls were coming.

Both Muni & I went for the manicure and pedicure. Raha and Jupe had the foot massage. The girl who came a while later to do Muni's nails looked as if she just rolled out of bed. Our guess was right. She said she slept at 2am the night before and a while ago she received a phone call asking her to come back to work. Her hair was still dripping and wet with water....didn't even have the time to dry it. Poor thing...

We all managed to finish out last stint in time. We then walked back to the hotel and Tee was already waiting for us. We went up to our room to get our things.

After checking out, we were in Tee's van heading for the airport. We said good-bye to Tee when he dropped us off and he too had received token from us. We could see he was happy with our tip.

In no time we were on board our flight back to KL. And in no time realty set in...The moment we landed, smses started to come in and handphones started ringing.

Well, considering we had such a good break the last three days..we didn't mind it at all.
