Wheels Trouble

Why is it when the warranty period expires, one would have problems with their purchases? In my case, it was my car. Only about a year old, it gave me a tough time this evening.

Tired and hungry, I wrapped up my work late this evening. Like always I'd take the elevator to level 2 of the multi tier car park at my work place. All I wanted to do was get home as fast as I could and have dinner with the rest of the gang.

And my ordeal was just about to start.

I walked to my car only to discover that the doors couldn't be unlocked and the alarm was haywire. I tried pressing the remote of my car and it just didn't blink. Ahhkksss.....I hate car problems!!! This is the one thing I find so difficult to tolerate. I need to have my wheels at my disposal and when it behaves funny, I just feel like pushing it into the lake near my office!!!

You see...I sent the car last week for servicing and it was ok when I drove it to work on Wednesday. Thursday it was ok too. And today...came the surprise...the alarm refuse to cooperate. Why la...why la...I definitely don't need this added to my mounting stress.

I called ABE to ask him what to do. It was obvious to me that we are never good at crisis handling especially when I was hysterical on the other end. I was advised to call the breakdown hotline so get some assitance. Again there were some confusion there. It's some service the insurance company is supposed to provide. But since, I am a nut head at bothering about all these policies and their numbers, I obviously didn't have any info to provide the lady at the help centre. I could have just kicked myself....

Anyway after several phone calls to ABE and some digging into my dashboard looking for my car manual book, I found the much needed info. I then called the service centre and thet were noce enough wanting to help. They said they'd send a tow truck. Urgghh ...that wasn't the exact solution I was looking for. I had this ugly vision streaming into my head...tow truck, multi level car park, being stranded at the service centre and not forgetting I WAS HUNGRY that I could eat anything that came pass me!!! To top it up, the roads were jammed to the max and it was also pouring buffalos, lions and tigers out there.

So I told the service centre lady, no tow truck for me and I'd find some way to solve this problem on the next day. I gathered my things and went downstairs to try get a cab to go back home. The security guard on duty was kind enough to help hail a cab.

I finally got home an hour later. Face so poyo and my mild headache had turned into the splitting one. No one at home dared say more they should.... fearing that the hungry dragon lady might just give a fiery flame thrower.

Had my dinner, put out this posting, swallowed down an Actifast and went straight to bed. I will deal with the car when I feel better tomorrow.

Last Nite in Hanoi

It's our last nite in Hanoi. I'm with my girlfriends wondering what to have for dinner tonight. We don't feel like going out to the same Muslim restaurant we have been going to for dinner for the past two nights. Guess...it will be maggie nite tonite and we will finish all the food we have brought along with us.

Our bags are already packed and I have almost finished all my money (sob..sob..sob...) Our flight tomorrow morning will be early. So we'd better get some good rest tonight.

More updates about my adventures in Hanoi when I return to KL.

Good Morning Vietnam!!!

I am posting this from my hotel room in Hanoi Vietnam. I am here with my two friends Muni & Jupe. We arrived here yesterday morning and will be in the city till Tuesday morning.

Our main activity of the last two days has been SHOPPING!!! Since the time we hit the street yesterday, we have been on high "sugar" rush looking for interesting stuffs in the city.

We have taken pictures of our retail "damages". But unfortunately, I didn't bring along my cable to upload the pictures. Well, looks like I have to wait till I get home to put in the pictures.

So till then....I'll be off to the streets with my empty bag..only waiting for it to have filled in when I walk to the next street of shops.

Breakfast Club Meeting

Try going out with just your girl friends for breakfast sometime. Girls being girls, you'll definately be hitting on a different note than the routine breakfast with the family. That's for sure.

I did just that with my girl friends last Saturday. I'd like to call it as the Breakfast Club Meeting.

Jupe, Muni, Kak Ariza & I hit out to a Mac Donald's restaurant last Saturday morning to have breakfast. It wasn't just.... breakfast, breakfast. It was a session filled with "oooosssss" and "ahhhhsssss" upon seeing Kak Ariza's purchases from her one week adventure in Jakarta.

Cutie Cat - Anya Hindmarch purses

Shopping was obviously the main topic of conversation. However, "something" really, really interesting came about while we were admiring her purchases. We began to talk about things we like doing most, none other than travel and shop. Then the topic of government grants and business plan began to pop up. Next thing we knew was, we were discussing of potential entrepreneurial plans from our interests and experiences combined.

Another addition to the collection of handbags & those in the boxes...they are tudungs - heavy on the bling-blings

At the end of the meeting, we all agreed that what we have discussed is really going to be something interesting and worth working on. I suppose there will be more of this breakfast club meeting and let's see where this will lead us gals towards.

Perhaps we should start considering Anya's tagline "We Are What We Do" seriously from now onwards...

Crazy Days Ahead

JellyMuffin.com - The place for profile layouts, flash generators, glitter graphics, backgrounds and codes

I feel just like the stickmen in the icon above. I am in Penang today and will only be back on Friday. Work is piling and deadlines are catching up. The mad rush is on...thus the mad running and jumping up and down as seen in the icon above. If not for some spirit lifting events in the upcoming days...I wouldn't know how I am to survive the challenging days ahead.

My can't wait list...

Can't wait to complete my work here and head straight home. But before heading back to KL, must try to get some asams from Chowrasta. That would mean braving the crawl on the Penang Bridge...ahhhkkksss :-(

Can't wait for this Saturday, a breakfast meet up with Muni, Jupe & Kak Ariza. Guess Kak Ariza will share with us her recent retail therapy in Jakarta. Perhaps we could also plan for more retail therapies in the coming months.

Can't wait also to collect my new tudungs from this new tudung tailor both Muni & I discovered. I have sent several pieces and now waiting eagerly for them to be ready.

On top of my can't wait list is...

Can't wait to be on the plane to Hanoi on 12/4/2008. Really..really can't wait to be doing some serious retail therapy!!!

Run For Fun

Imagine waking up at 5 in the morning on a Sunday!!! A real bommer right? Well, that was what excatly I did last Sunday. Reason to it??? Run For Fun.

My little girl participated in this run which was organized by one TV station last Sunday. Flag off was supposed to be at 7a.m. However, kids had to register between 5.30am till 6.30am. I thought to myself, who would be insane enough to be awake so very early on a Sunday for this run??

Get ready kids....

Off you go!!!

When I got to the Shah Alam Studium (where the run was held), I saw throngs of parents and kids all ready for the run. There were like thousands of people at the stadium that morning.

All in all I am glad everything went well for my girl. She didn't win any prizes but I think she did experience some "fun" at the run. As for me, it wasn't any fun at all for I ended up with a splitting headache when the whole thing was over.
