Halal@Saigon

Getting halal food in HCMC was easy. In two simple steps, we got to these gastronomical joints. First, we Googled and second, we let our feet do the walking. Dah penat berjalan...makan pun so berselera :)

Bon Mua Four Season Restaurant, 2 Thi Sach Street, District 1.
(Unfortunately we didn't get to try out this restaurant. It is located at the end of the street, a bit poorly lighted. Didn't feel safe going there at night)

An Indian joint...Bombay Restaurant. Rather small...when we peeked from outside, there were only 4 tables available for dining.

D'Anjung is located at 3rd floor Parkson Shopping complex at Le Thanh Ton Street, District 1. Good food and services.

We had Nasi Lemak and teh tarik that night...yummy!!!

Twice we had dinner at this restaurant - Halal@Saigon. Located at 31 Dong Du, District 1. New, clean, modern and pleasing to the eye restaurant and serves good food too. Met the owner of the place, Dr Shimi, an Indian lady based in HCMC on our last night.

The Musulman Mosque is right opposite Halal@Saigon

kak kay,

District 1 is the place to stay kan? Dekat dgn semua bende. Last time we stayed at District 4. Thot dekat je....cab mahal lah...

Desert Rose,

Sudah khatam my postings?? Wah ..ni boleh diberi hadiah ni :)

I tell you HCMC is NOT for the weak heart (as in tak kuat iman bila tengok kedai berderetan...). If tengok clogs tu you dah pitam, lagi kan lah bende lain. WE all pun almost pengsan gak. But we had our first pengsan@Vietnam masa last year yg kami pi Hanoi. Haaa....siap nyanyi-nyanyi lagu lagi coz dah tak betol sikit kepala. So kira gi HCMC ni macam maintain je lah tak go gu-gu-ga-ga sakan. But kalau nak terjebak tu...hai buat apa pun pasti terjebak jugak.

Siapa mau ke HCMC haaa angkat tangan??? Haaa....I see you with both hands up..heh..heh. Bolehhh..inshaAllah kita leh pi sana. But as for now kena duk diam-diam kumpul fulus dulu :)

Cik Edelweiss,

Sonang je kalu nak pi HCMC. Go to AA website and let yr fingers do the clicking...eh...booking I mean :)

Kepada sesipa yg nak gi tu, let me know. I'll give you guys names of shops and interesting things to do in HCMC. No need tercari-cari dah :)

Madam Principal,

Yes District 1 is THE place to be in HCMC. Most shops are just within walking distance. Naik cab is expensive. Since we don't know the roads, the cabbies will just drive you round and round in the city. That way they get to collect more from the meter.

Kay?? Kenapalah you gi HCMC makan nasi lemak and minum tehtarik? Spoil2!hehehe

Tapi bab shopping..you're our sifu!
Kami 'rakyat jelata' junjung the RT queen!

Dear Mamasita,

If tak makan nasi lemak & minum teh tarik, what else to eat?? Cengkerik goreng ader lah kat pasar tu. Plus some other unidentified halal/haram objects :D There was a Gloria Jean but macam maleh nak makan western pulak. So we whack the rice lah...

Ohhh...joms gi wedding my niece in Dec nanti. Her dad is the Ambassador to Argentina :) Cannnn...we can all lip lap together..har..har :)

kay_leeda said...

Dear Ja,

Ohh do make your way there!! You'll find your lycra and jersey fabrics at the market place I mentioned. Go crazy and "rambang mata" you will, I assure you.

I got a few pieces to make tudung too. Haiii tak sabar nak tunggu siap. So do you take tepahan too?? Heh..heh...just trying my luck :)

kay_leeda said...

Naz,

I'm sure you'd want to go with yr family kan. So that would require a different kind of itinerary. But of course Mommy MUST find time for RT lah kan :)

Cara-cara menabung??? Errr...I'm like the last person you should be asking. My tabung level sama je dari dulu till now...
