The Question

Salams to all. It's the fourth day of fasting today. Alhamdullilah everything is under control. Nissa is at her second attempt trying to fast this year. She managed to do about 20 days last year I think. She tells me she wants to improve the earlier set record. Kira okay lah tu kan. I'm not too pushy over this. I believe she's got to want to do it herself.

So like everyone else out there, the question of what to masak for berbuka is constantly on every Mom's mind. I see FB postings of curry puff making, recipe for masak asam pedas ikan pari and many others. Fuhhh..dah tengahari gini, perut dah berkeroncong.....meleleh gak air liuq bila baca.

I pretty much leave my cooking to Bibik during this fasting month (errr ...bukan fasting month je...tak fasting month pun Bibik gak yang masak). However today, I feel extra domesticated pulak and terasa nak turun padang.

Yesterday I discovered these greens all full grown in Abe's garden. Nak masak apa eh? Does anyone have any ideas?

Mangga buat kerabu siam or campur ngan air asam buat cicah ngan ikan bakar, pengsannnnn

Daun kaduk buat kerabu ngan jantung pisang, and kerang ....."Mama nak balikkkkkk waaaa"

mangga tu masak cili api dgn daging sedap tu kay...janting pisang tu buat ulam ngan sambal belacan...sedap nya..for that kadok..tak reti den nak makan...

Hahahaha..ingat you cakap greens tu I dah bayangkan bayam,kacang panjang, bendir,terung, tomato..ni mempelam? Sakit perut oi makan masam2 masa berbuka..hehehe
Jantung pisang? Tu agaknya bolehlah jugak.Daun kadok????Hmmm..hahaha
Pening lah kepala bibik jadi ayam..I mean Iron Chef!

Kay, mangga buat paceri! Pack into a few small containers and keep in the fridge. Makan sikit2..masa berbuka or sahur, at least ada jugak selera! Jantung kukus and cicah sambal belacan (boleh buat sambal belacan mangga jugak, kan?!) Daun kadok? Alamak, tak tahu..maybe bagi je lah pada Pak Kadok?!;-)

Wah...pandai nyer you!! I know how terangkat it is bila mangga dicampur dlm air asam. Mak mertua lalu confirm tak pandang pun.

Yesterday's menu however tidak menggunakan all of the above. Bibik made ulam jantung pisang with ikan bilis and cili padi. Best wooo....
BUT, BUT.....maam semlm couldn't indulge la pulak..sob sob. Gastric ku mali mengacau. Dah lah tak dpt makan, sakit perut lagi. Adei....

Kerabu mangga akan dibuat this weekend. Kasi tumbuk itu kacang bepang pas tu tabuq and gaul dgn cili api kan. Fuhhh....out of this world!!!

Bunga betik adaaaaa....but itu favourite Bibik. Me can't touch that!!

Alahhhh semlm sakit perut lah kak...tak done nak membuat apa pun. Sampai je rumah perut dah rasa one kind. Frust sgt....

Bibik je yang buat ulam jantung pisang. I rasa sikit je. Tak berani nak makan, takut lagi sakit nanti.

Daun kadok tu?? Heh..heh...bukan you saja yg tak tau what to do with it. I mula-mula thought that it was daun sireh. Haaa... boleh gitu??

I know..I know makan all those masam-masam things sakit perut. Tak makan lun dah sakit perut. Last night my gastric mai...adei...sakit yg teramat.

Bibik I memang Iron Chef in the kitchen. But dah nak blk dah dia....lepas ni Maam tukar jadi "Tumirah"..uhuk...uhuk.

My maid pun is like yours. She has been doing most of the cooking in our house. When she goes back end of this year, mati lah I! Hopefully maid baru senang diajar memasak.

Ahhh what would we do without them maids kan??? Bila dah pandai...they balik pulak. Haiyaaa....
Yup, I have to train the new one too. But God bless coz she's already in and have been in my Mon's house, getting all the tips she could get.

Mangga tu?? So far belum ku korban kan lagi. Let's see how my perut is in the next few days.

been away and lambat lak dtg sini, mangga tuh buat masak lemak cili api dgn ikan, best ikan parang but kalau tak suka yg bertulang tenggiri pun sodap....

daun kaduk buat sambal tempoyak yg campur mcm2 daun kayu tuh...
