The morning was unusually quiet. Sound from busy school buses was not heard from the road next to our home. In fact the neighbourhood's daily hustle and bustle was absent this morning. No one was rushing out to beat the jam to get to work and neither were parents seen eager packing kids to school before the final bell rings.
Yippyy...it's a public holiday today!! 1st of May is Labour Day. Well, in this part of the world at least. When I was studying in the States, I discovered that folks in the land of Uncle Sam celebrate Labour Day on the first Monday in September. I read somewhere that the form for the celebration of Labour Day is to exhibit the "the strength and esprit de corps of the trade and labor organizations". Whatever it is, the long holiday is very much appreciated by all.
As with other long holidays, many have made travel plans. I have none what so ever in mind yet. Nissa wants to go have Japanese food for lunch today. We'll probably do that. It is however, not going to help much on Mommy's vain efforts of trying to shed the extra kilos. But upon seeing her all ready to dig into the shashimi and shushi spread, I guess Mommy's trimmed waist line will have to wait a while (if it ever does happen...).
The weather is gonna be hot the next few days I bet. So stay cool folks and enjoy the long weekend :)

Hai Kay!
Have a great weekend my dear friend! Takper lah..next week boleh aerobics or gym!So makan time!!
Today, we just lazed at home. What a bliss. Even the fishes were glad that we did that and not disturb them. Can't wait for another holiday next Friday. If only we work 4 days a week that could be the end of productivity.
We went to Berjaya Times Square, mengharungi the horrendous traffic jam, beratur for a good 20 minutes (dah ptg, so the queue was not so bad) semata2 nak beli Krispy Kreme Doughnuts...Shahrul tanya what's the fuss all about...
Hi!
We've just had our very first BBQ this year. 16C and very sunny from 6am to 9pm.
Have a nice weekend with the family!
Dear Mamasita,
Why is that eating is so much more fun than doing gym routines? Serious...I really need to shed the extras...sigh.
TM,
It was so, so hot during the day time yesterday. I had forgotten that it was a Friday pulak. So the Japanese makan had to be rescheduled to dinner.
Next Friday what holiday pulak??
Madam Principal,
We were at SunwayP last nite for the much promised Japanese do. Since siang hubby went for prayers, so we rescheduled to makan in the evening. Ohhh yessss...there was a huge crowd in SunwayP too. Combination of awal bulan, gaji dah masuk and good offers everywhere. So who says the economy merudum eh??
Naz,
BBQ eh? Wonderful way of getting the family together. We haven't had a BBQ for a while. With the hot, hot weather, I already feel like I'm being grilled anyway. Bibik's favourite phrase to describe the heat is "seperti dibakarrrrr"
Hi Kay,
It's just a normal weekend here in Dhaka. Labour Day wasn't really celebrated. We spent a quiet day, just the four of us. We needed that time together. My hubby left for Islamabad this morning. :-(
Komen Pak Malim, kucing ray yg alim.
Kay,
Can I have some sushi, please, kata Pak Malim sambil memanggil polis.
MTT,
Hope you are feeling better. It's always difficult to have the one you love far, far away from our reach. But absence does make the heart go fonder...and I'm sure you know this already kan :)
So cheer up girlfriend, and happy packing :)
Wahai Pak Malim kucing ray yang alim.
Wahhh...lama Kay tak jumpa Pak Malim. Kenapa sejak akhir ni, Pak Malim jarang leave a trail, tanya Kay yang dah looking frail.
Ohh...Pak Malim suka sushi iyer?? Okay nanti Kay buatkan, sebab dulu I did learn how to make sushi explains Kay who loves watching comedy by James Beluchi.
