Walk With a Cause

It was my first walk this year. My busy schedule did not permit me to participate in the KL Marathon held earlier. Plus I didn't have much confidence that these knees would hold up to the stress from the run.

So the closest adrenaline rush to a marathon was this charity run by Avon Malaysia.

When I signed up for the "Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer" Run sometime last July, I thought I was gonna be walking all by myself. Promoted the event on FB but there didn't seem to be many takers. It being held on a Sunday, I guess people had plans already made. Anyway much to my delight, that 1 later multipled to 5; my sister and her two daughters had signed up too and I managed to drag Nissa to come along.

This auntie all set...all charged to go. Like 2 weeks before the run, I walked almost every morning. Some days I did 4km, some days I only managed 3....

Nissa and Aliah doing jump warm ups

.
The Kinrara Gang - my sis and her two girls (and they were very competitive one lorrr...nak finish top 50 and they did of coz)

.
Crowd starting to build up (and while waiting to the celebs and VIPs we had to tolerate 3 rounds of zumba!! Katanya for warming up...yeah, but like THREE rounds??? In such a limited space to be shaking, shaking away?? Helloooo...organizers, pls be practical next time yar)

.
Can't wait to start dah ni....

Let's walk everyone!

.
Ehhh ehhh....check out who was in the crowd too ;)

It's Showtime!!

The 19th Commonwealth Games are on in New Delhi.

The opening ceremony held a few hours ago was a spectacular and awesome show. Simply overwhelming to see different cultures within India come together to give a jaw-dropping cultural extravaganza.

Aaaaaa Chooooo!!

Awww no!! I am down with a cold now. Last week Abe was knocked out for several days, coughing and sok-sek-sok-sek with Kleenex in hand, clearing his nose. Awwww.....dah berjangkit lah ni!! Tak suka nya, not now, not when I have a million to do (then again...bila nya yang I don't have tonnes to do kan??)

After dinner just now, I gulped down actifed, hoping to clear the nasal congestion. It works so far, but my eyes are so, so heavy now.

We were at Subang Parade earlier. There's already a party organized at the car park area of the complex.

The blue bears dancing to the "Wavin Flag" tune. So adorable...especially the orange bear :)

Awww...this is so not good, not when the final kick-off is only hours away. I do want to watch team Orange play. Hopefully the cup will be theirs this round.

Looks like I have to catch the replay if I miss the game later......coz I can't afford going all nite long aaaaa choooooing away!!

Enjoy the game folks...

When I get older I will be stronger
They'll call me freedom, just like a wavin' flag........

Waka Waka

Superb sportsmanship it was at the opening game FIFA 2010 between Mexico and South Africa that ended some minutes back. Though we were putting our bets on South Africa, the Mexicans displayed great determination, showing to the host nation that they can't easily be dismissed.

So that was how the game went. It ended with a draw of one all for both teams.

I must confess I am no soccer fan. This is probably due to the much disappointment with local soccer scene and those foolish acts of the rowdy fans - main nya tak seberapa, musnah nya yang lebih.

My personal observation on the local sports scene is that there is just too much of politics. Handsome rewards await the players despite their lackadaisical performance. The much awaited sports heroes like Super Mokh, Santokh Singh and Soh Chin Aun never surfaced. *sigh* Bila lah agak nya patah tumbuh, hilang berganti......
