Three, Two, One.....lights off!!!
I must say it was kinda fun during the one hour when we sat in our dimly lit living room. We lit candles of all sorts, you name it, yang scented, tak scented and even those from the mamak shop – those blackout candles. The girls were excited about the whole jazz of helping to save the earth. In school they said there were talks about appreciating Mother Nature and why everyone should be united in observing Earth Hour.
So how was the one hour spent? Bibik, as usual, was busy with her cleaning in the kitchen. The girls were occupied with their cameras, taking pictures of each other in the dark. Me?? If only the mosquitoes were a little kind towards me, I suppose I would have had a good time observing the Earth Hour. Nonetheless, it was pretty cool just chilling in the dark, catching up with ABE on what happened earlier today and hoping that ABE would get “ideas” from the sort of romantic ambiance. But….ABE being ABE, hah..hah…dream on!!!

kAY - firstly, ampun & maaf for not being able to be with you folks at the MB gathering. we had to stay put yesterday sebab dapt news abt the discovery of the bodies of the missing doctors, one of whom was the spouse of an old friend. Insyaallah, we shall meet soon enough.
so goodla you guys..i wish to off the lights but my kids ni penakut sikit..so I just try to minimize the usage of the lights.. my dearest...hmmm...buat tak tau je...
Kay,
We observed Earth Hour in our own way. Ainul was busy telling everyone what she did at your house and how I got lost ehhehe several times, while I put My Lil Man to bed. The house lights were dimmed as the step kids were doing homework. They had tonnes of homework. But the kids tell me that Earth Hour at "kg" not effective as we had all airconds on (sebab full house).
Again thanks for being such a wonderful hostess.
... and secondly (terlupa pulak) we too bergelap totally for one hour from 8.30 to 9.30 but had the tv on. the son and his friend dropped by for dinner, makan dalam gelap. yang nak tergelak tu, I forgot completely about pasang lilin, until i saw the pixs in yr blog....
then i mentioned kat pak abu, awat kita tak pasang lilin? he said, pasal kita dah tua dan nyanyok, ada lilin berbelas batang dok dlm gelap..LOL
Dear Kak Puteri,
No worries, InshaAllah we will meet at another meet or even sooner :)
Yes, I read about the missing doctors and heard about the unfortunately finding. Innalillah...Hope you friend is coping well.
Laaa...awat nya yang makan dalam gelap??? I pun scramble pi cari lilin dalam drawers. If not, I would have been like you too, dok teraba-raba dalam gelap :))
Plus no way jose my girls would have wanted to do the Earth Hour thingy in total darkness. Kecut perut depa semua....
Dear Laracroft,
My guess is kan, these T*B guys, yr hubs and mine in particular reference here :), tak mau kot memang tak prihatin abt this Earth Hour thingy. ABE pun in the beginning wasn't too excited abt keeping still in the dark. But my girls sort of gave him no choice. They said by 8.30pm lights off daddy, tak kisah samada you like it or not!!!
Hi Aida,
Really glad you could make it last Saturday. Admire you patience, esp when I was trying to give you directions on the phone while you were driving :)
Yes, I guess, we all contribute in our own ways. Total lights off or semi off, doesn't matter. The most important thing is that the children know how important it is to appreciate what's around them.
The homework thing?? Ooo...I drilled mine to finish them on Friday nite, or else NO Earth Hour!!!
Thank you for being such a good hostess.
Wished Principal told me earlier about temankan dia and that actually it was bloggers meet (dia dah kena lecture dgn I hehehe)...I just came back from my final class for the sem when she called and persuaded me to accompany her.
Sampai sekarang I malu dtg tangan kosong...tp balik penuh berisi!
But I'm glad I followed her, it's great to know you and other blogger frens.
